LEAWOOD, Kan. — A worker was critically injured after a nearly 600-pound window unit fell on him Thursday afternoon.
At 12:29 p.m., Leawood police officers were called about a construction accident in the 4300 block of 143rd.
According to police, a multi-hundred-pound window unit was being lifted into position on a residential site. The window fell about 8 feet and struck a worker on the head.
Leawood police said the worker was treated at the scene by Leawood Fire and MedAct personnel before he was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
